Lift Every Voice

 Lift Every Voice is a one-act play with music, 50 minutes in length.
The play chronicles some of the major influences
of the Harlem Renaissance (1919 - 1933).

1. Convergence/Collaboration/Creativity of many groups of people, black and white.
2. Consciousness: shift from "the suffering Negro" to African American pride.
3. Culture: music, poetry and politics affecting American culture and world.

Fee: First show - $400

         Second show (same day, same venue) - $275

Educational Goals

1)  Allow students to experience a play performed live.
2)  Enlighten students regarding important incidents and people in the Harlem Renaissance.
3)  Cause students to think about the ramifications of prejudice and racial discrimination.
4)  Inspire students to take positive steps toward equality and justice for all people.
